The modal adverb 当然
The modal adverb (语气副词) expresses subjective judgment or assurance toward an action.
expresses agreement or emphasizes confidence in what has been said. 当然 is usually placed before a predicate. The predicate can be expressed by a verb or an adjective.

tā dāngrán hěn piàoliang
当然 can also be used independently. In this case, it must be followed either by a period or comma.

If 当然 is used independently, it can be followed by the modal particle to emphasize conviction.
