The coordinating conjunction 以及

The conjunction 以及

connects homogeneous parts of a sentence and simple sentences. It is used in written language.

Examples

棉花以及亚麻的价格会下滑

Cotton and linen prices could fall

miánhuā yǐjí yàmá de jiàgé huì xiàhuá

小明、小龙以及另外两个学生参加了这个比赛

Xiao Ming, Xiao Long and two other students took part in this competition

xiǎomíng, xiǎolóng yǐjí lìngwài liǎng ge xuéshēng cānjiā le zhè ge bǐsài

我平时喜欢游泳、自行车、跑步以及打各种球类活动

I like swimming, cycling, running and playing different sports

wǒ píngshí xǐhuan yóuyǒng, zìxíngchē, pǎobù yǐjí dǎ gèzhǒng qiúlèi huódòng

以及 also summarizes and classifies what was mentioned before. In this case, it is followed by the word 其他

or 别的
