"Even if..., still..."
The structure expresses that the result or decision would not change even if a hypothetical condition was true. 即使 is followed by a hypothetical condition, while 也 is followed by a result or decision.

jíshǐ tā bǎ nǐ fántòu le, chūyú lǐmào nǐ yě bù néng ràng tā kànchūlai
If a sentence has one subject, the subject can either be placed in the first part of a sentence before or after 即使, or in the second part of a sentence before 也.

这水瓶即使平放不漏一滴水
The flask is completely watertight, even when laid on its side

You can also use instead of 即使.
