The conjunction 要不是
The conjunction indicates that the result would not have been achieved without someone else's help or if some situation had not occurred. For example, “without your help, I would not have made it”. We should state 要不是 at the beginning of the first part of a sentence where we state a situation that happened. The second part indicates what could have happened if not for the situation mentioned in the previous sentence. It may be either a positive or a negative situation.
Pay attention
At the end of the first part of a sentence with 要不是, we often state .
