The adverb
好像
is used to express one’s observation. It’s placed after the subject and before the verb.

好像 can be part of the following construction
好像…一样
. It shows a comparison of the subject and the verb with something.

In most cases, it’s a comparison with a situation. In this case, use a verb phrase or a whole sentence in place of the ellipsis.

A verb phrase is a combination of a verb and an auxiliary word. The auxiliary word can be either an auxiliary verb or an object.

But we can also make a comparison with a person or a thing. In this case, use a noun in place of the ellipsis.
Pay attention
This construction is rarely used with nouns,
像…一样
is usually used instead.

If a verb is compared with something, the construction 好像…一样 is often placed after the verb with the particle
