The adverbs with the meaning of “never”

The adverb 永远
We use the adverb before a predicate with a negative particle, and together they are translated as “never”. It is often shortened to 永不.

The adverb 从来
The adverb also translates as “always”, but we should use it before the negative particles or . Together they are translated as “never”. We use 从来不 when talking about regular actions and habits.

从来看书
He never reads books
tā cónglái bú kànshū
我们老板从来迟到
Our boss is never late
wǒmen lǎobǎn cónglái bù chídào
We use 从来没 when talking about the past. These sentences often have the suffix placed after the verb.
Examples
从来没喝酒
I have never drunk alcohol
wǒ cónglái méi hējiǔ
爸爸从来没中国
Dad has never been to China
bàba cónglái méi qùguò zhōngguó
Pay attention
When someone says 从来没, it often indicates that the action has not been performed up until now, but that the situation has changed or may change in the near future. Let’s compare: 我从来不喝酒 I never drink alcohol (and have no plans to change that). 我从来没喝酒 I have never drunk alcohol before (but probably will change now).
