We use these adverbs to emphasize a fortunate coincidence of circumstances, which makes it possible to avoid some difficulties.
The adverbs 幸好 and 幸亏 can be stated either at the beginning of a whole sentence or at the beginning of the second clause of a complex sentence. We can state the subject before these adverbs.
