The verb 值 "to cost"
Earlier, we learned how to talk about the value of something in Chinese without using verbs. For example: 苹果3块钱 "apples cost 3 yuan".
However, we can also use the special verb to express how much something costs.

The cost can be specific or approximate: "very expensive", "not very expensive".

He values his time. He charges a lot of money per hour
shíjiān duì tā lái shuō fēicháng bǎoguì, tā de yí ge zhōngtóu zhí hěn duō qián

He doesn't think it's worth so much money
