Expressing "to increase" with 增添 and 增加
增添 and 增加 have the same meaning, but differ slightly in usage.
The verb 增添
emphasizes a slight increase in something. The verb 增添 is usually used with something abstract. For example: "to cause somebody trouble", "to give somebody courage", "to add charm to something".

增添 must be followed by an object.

is used to indicate changes in quantity. The verb 增加 is usually used with something concrete. For example: "to get an increase in pay", "to increase production".

In some cases, 增加 can also be used with abstract nouns.
